Microsoft continues to push the boundaries of innovation by integrating Copilot and
Microsoft Designer into its Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscriptions. This integration
brings artificial intelligence (AI) to productivity tools used by millions, changing how we
work and create.
Copilot: Your AI Assistant in Microsoft 365
With this update, the majority of Microsoft’s 84 million subscribers will now have access to
Copilot in key Microsoft 365 apps, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote,
and the newly introduced Microsoft 365 Copilot app. Copilot acts as an AI-powered assistant
designed to help streamline tasks and boost productivity.
How Copilot Enhances Productivity:
∙Writing Assistance (Word): Copilot helps draft documents, suggest rephrasing, and
adjust tone according to context.
∙Data Insights (Excel): Copilot analyzes data and provides valuable insights to assist
with budgeting and project management.
∙Presentation Creation (PowerPoint): Copilot generates professional presentations
based on minimal input, saving time.
∙Email Management (Outlook): Copilot summarizes long email threads, helping you
stay organized and respond faster.
∙Note Organization (OneNote): Copilot organizes and summarizes your notes,
making it easier to stay on top of tasks and ideas.
Microsoft Designer: AI-Powered Creativity
Alongside Copilot, Microsoft introduces Designer, an AI-driven tool designed to simplify
image creation and editing. Available on web and mobile, Designer lets you:
∙Edit Photos: Remove unwanted elements from images using AI, making photo edits
easy and efficient.
∙Generate Custom Visuals: Describe what you need, and Designer will automatically
create visuals to complement your documents and presentations.
Subscription Plans and AI Credits
Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers will receive a monthly allocation of AI credits
that can be used for Copilot and Designer. For those with higher AI usage, the Copilot Pro
plan provides unlimited access to all advanced features.
Pricing and Privacy Considerations
To reflect these innovations, Microsoft will increase the price of U.S. subscriptions by
$3/month. However, those who prefer a plan without AI features can opt for Microsoft 365
Basic.
Regarding privacy, Microsoft ensures that user data is not used to train AI models. Copilot
features can be toggled on or off, giving users more control over their experience.
A Leap Forward in Productivity
By integrating Copilot and Microsoft Designer, Microsoft 365 has become more powerful
than ever. These tools offer endless possibilities for productivity and creativity, helping users
save time, reduce complexity, and drive innovation.
