Microsoft Copilot

From assistant to teammate

Copilot is Microsoft’s AI layer across the entire stack — Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Security, and developer tools. One AI that works wherever you work, grounded in your data, governed by your policies.

The vision

The Frontier Firm

Microsoft envisions a new kind of organization: human-led, agent-operated. Frontier Firms don’t just adopt AI — they treat intelligence as infrastructure.

Buy intelligence like electricity

AI becomes a utility. Pay for what you use, scale on demand. Copilot Credits, consumption-based agents, no upfront AI investment.

Put it to work like an employee

Agents handle real work — payables, sales orders, meeting prep, research. Transparent, auditable, and always under human oversight.

Compound it like interest

Every agent learns your data, your preferences, your processes. The more you use it, the more value it generates — exponentially.

Microsoft 365 Copilot

AI in every app your team uses

Microsoft 365 Copilot works inside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams — grounded in your organization’s data through Microsoft Graph. It reasons across your files, emails, and conversations.

Word

Draft documents, rewrite sections, summarize long files. Copilot understands your org's style and content.

Excel

Analyze data with natural language. Create formulas, charts, and pivot tables from a conversation.

PowerPoint

Generate presentations from a prompt or a Word document. Layout, images, and speaker notes handled.

Outlook

Summarize email threads, draft replies, schedule meetings. Prioritize what matters, skip what doesn't.

Teams

Real-time meeting summaries, action item extraction, and follow-up drafts. Catch up on meetings you missed.

Business Chat

Ask questions across your Microsoft 365 data — emails, files, chats, calendar. One AI, all your work context.

M365 Copilot add-on: $21/user/month. Included in Microsoft 365 E7 ($99/user/month, launching May 2026).

Beyond prompts

Copilot Cowork — delegation, not dictation

Wave 3 of Microsoft 365 Copilot introduces Copilot Cowork: AI that handles complex, multi-step tasks over time. Instead of asking Copilot to generate a single artifact, Cowork lets you delegate meaningful work and stay in the loop as it progresses.

Long-running tasks

Cowork executes workflows that unfold over hours or days — monitoring, drafting, preparing, and surfacing results when ready. Progress is visible and steerable.

Multi-model reasoning

Microsoft selects the optimal AI model for each sub-task — the right model for the right job, automatically. Work IQ provides the context of your work, not just fragments of data.

Enterprise guardrails

Actions are transparent and auditable. Everything runs within Microsoft’s security, identity, and governance framework — Defender, Entra, and Purview.

Copilot Cowork interface — organize inbox, organize week, prep for a meeting, research a company

What can you delegate to Cowork?

Clean up your calendar

Cowork reviews your Outlook schedule, flags conflicts and low-value meetings, proposes changes. Once approved, it declines, reschedules, and adds focus blocks automatically.

Prepare for a meeting

Pulls relevant emails, files, and notes. Produces a client-ready deck, a briefing document, schedules prep time on your calendar, and drafts a status email with attachments.

Research a company

Gathers earnings reports, SEC filings, analyst commentary, and news. Delivers an executive summary for email, a structured research memo, and an Excel workbook with labeled tabs.

Create a launch plan

Builds a competitive comparison in Excel, distills differentiation into a value proposition document, generates a pitch deck, and outlines milestones with owners and next steps.

EU customers: Copilot Cowork is powered by Anthropic models, which are currently excluded from the EU Data Boundary. Cowork is disabled by default for EU tenants — admins can choose to enable it. This also applies to Anthropic models in Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and Office agents. Your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central data and standard Copilot features (chat, analysis assist, bank reconciliation) remain fully within the EU Data Boundary.

One AI, every surface

Copilot across the Microsoft stack

Copilot isn’t one product — it’s an AI layer embedded in every major Microsoft platform. Each instance is tuned for its domain.

Copilot in Dynamics 365

AI embedded inside Business Central, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer Service. Autonomous agents handle payables, sales orders, and customer interactions end-to-end.

See Copilot in Business Central →

Copilot Studio

The low-code platform for building custom AI agents. Connect to any data source via MCP, Power Platform connectors, or REST APIs. Deploy agents to Teams, web, or Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Security Copilot

AI-powered threat investigation and incident response across Defender, Sentinel, Entra, and Purview. Summarizes alerts, generates KQL queries, and automates remediation workflows.

GitHub Copilot

AI pair programmer for developers. Code completion, chat, pull request summaries, and multi-file edits. We use it daily for AL and full-stack development.

How we use it

Copilot in our daily work

We don’t just implement Copilot for customers — we use it ourselves, every day.

GitHub Copilot for AL

Our developers use GitHub Copilot with AL-specific rules to write Business Central extensions, tests, and API integrations faster. AI understands our codebase conventions.

Copilot Studio agents

We build custom agents for customers — connected to their Business Central data via MCP Server, deployed to Teams or web portals.

Our own AI Copilots

We ship AI features inside our Fisqal apps on AppSource — bank reconciliation, fixed asset tax analysis, and AI account review. Powered by Azure OpenAI, live in production.
