AI suggests matches for bank statement lines — posting and matching entries simultaneously. Handles employee ledger items, VAT, and multi-currency.
Ask questions in natural language about your data. Copilot generates answers, finds records, and explains fields — directly inside Business Central.
Copilot helps analyze data on list pages — group, filter, pivot, and summarize any dataset using natural language instructions.
Copilot-powered search that finds pages, reports, and actions even when you don't remember the exact name. Understands intent, not just keywords.
Generate product descriptions, marketing copy, and item text with AI — directly from item cards. Supports multiple tones and lengths.
Copilot suggests line items for sales documents based on customer history, frequently ordered items, and natural language input.
Processes sales emails and inquiries autonomously. Reads attachments, creates quotes, handles multiple ship-to addresses, and provides capable-to-promise responses for item availability.
Automates accounts payable. Monitors a designated mailbox, reads incoming invoices with Azure Document Intelligence, identifies vendors, matches accounts, and creates purchase invoice drafts for human approval.
Native expense reports in Business Central — no external tools needed. Employees capture expenses, managers approve, and accountants post reimbursements. All built in.
Business Central exposes an MCP Server for Copilot Studio. Build custom agents connected to your data — deploy to Teams, web, or Microsoft 365 Copilot. No AL code required.
SK Consulting ships additional AI Copilots inside our Fisqal apps: bank reconciliation, fixed asset tax analysis, and AI account review — live in production on AppSource today.

Compliance
Microsoft ensures Business Central compliance at the application, service, and infrastructure level. Your auditors and regulators will appreciate the certifications that come out of the box.
The application itself is designed for regulatory and financial standards.
The cloud service holds independent third-party certifications.
Detailed documentation from Microsoft on each compliance dimension.
Lifecycle
Business Central follows the Modern Lifecycle Policy: two major release waves per year (April and October), monthly minor updates in between, and ~18 months of support per version. Cloud customers are updated automatically.
Wave 1 in April, Wave 2 in October. New features, modules, AI capabilities.
Monthly cumulative updates with fixes, regulatory changes, and improvements.
Each major version supported for ~18 months. Overlap ensures smooth transitions.
Cloud (SaaS)
Updates are automatic and touchless. You set a maintenance window (min. 6 hours), and Microsoft applies updates within it. No action required. You receive email notifications before each update.
On-Premises
You control when to apply cumulative updates. Must stay on a supported version at all times. Skipping updates is possible, but each major version must be adopted before its predecessor expires.

Deployment & Licensing
Business Central is available as a cloud SaaS service managed by Microsoft, or as an on-premises deployment you manage yourself. Both models use named-user licensing with Essentials or Premium tiers.
Hosted by Microsoft on Azure. Automatic updates, zero infrastructure, AI Copilot included. Purchased through CSP partners like SK Consulting. Most customers choose this.
Self-hosted or partner-hosted. Two licensing models: perpetual (own the licenses) or subscription (lease them). You manage servers, updates, and SQL Server.
